Eleven suspects who allegedly kidnapped Chinese women in Angola to be forced into prostitution were extradited to China on Sunday, the Ministry of Public Security said Wednesday. Almost two weeks ago 19 women rescued from the forced prostitution ring in Angola returned home accompanied by Chinese police, according to a release on the ministry's official website.

The victim, who thought she was being given a good job opportunity, arrived in Angola's capital, Luanda on April She soon found herself being taken and forced into prostitution, according to the Beijing News Wednesday. The victim was lured with a high salary as a hotel waitress in Angola. Xu Juan, one of the suspects arrested by police, told CCTV Wednesday women from poor backgrounds with low education levels were being targeted by the group. The promise of paying for the airfare and the visa fees for the victims in advance was another draw.
When the victims arrived at Luanda, the suspects took away their passports and told them they would have to earn back the flight and visa costs. If the victims did not have enough to pay back the money, they were forced to work as prostitutes in hotel.
After learning of the case from the relatives of the victim, the police put together a team and flew to Angola. On October 25, Chinese public security authorities with their Angola counterparts shut down the so-called hotel, which was in fact a brothel. The bawdy house was built with three layers of gates guarded by machine guns. Wei said most Chinese workers in Angola don't bring their wives, so Chinese prostitutes are in demand there.
